Being a mom of two energetic kids, it’s imperative for us to go outdoors to burn their energy through play. It doesn’t matter if it’s going to a playground, going swimming in a water park, walking by the river, window-shopping at the mall, or engaging in sports during weekends. They must play! But what happens when the weather doesn’t cooperate? If it rains too hard? If it is too hot? Or if it’s too cold? It’s so hard for kids to stay indoors because there isn’t much room to move, jump, tumble, and run around. Thank goodness for indoor kids’ play centres! They’re truly life-saving creations for parents like me. It’s a blessing that Melbourne is home to big and small play centres that can cater to kids of all ages. Now, I don’t have to worry about where to go when the weather won’t cooperate! Here’s a list of Melbourne’s best kids’ play centres you and your kids can visit in your free time.

Are kids’ play centres safe?

Generally speaking, indoor playgrounds and play centres are safe as long as the guidelines and rules are strictly followed. Most play centres require each kid to be accompanied by one adult to avoid accidents and incidents.

Do play centres offer food and drinks?

Not all indoor playgrounds and play places offer food and drinks to their customers. But, those that do, can also have a separate area for the adults and kids to have simple snacks, drinks, coffee, and more. Other kids’ play centres have vending machines on-site and an eating area to consume them.

How much does the entrance fee cost in kids’ play centres?

The cost to enter an indoor play centre is variable on the size, location, amenities, and time of play. The entrance fee of the child and the guardian can also be different and could also be inclusive of a drink. Group bookings can also be availed of at a discount. It’s best to call in advance to your play centre of choice to ask them about their rates and inclusions.

Do we need to wear socks in a play centre?

Yes, socks are a requirement for most play centres. Play facilities require kids and adults to wear socks for safety and hygienic reasons. Wearing socks help keep the mats clean and prevents germs from spreading. Plus, socks can also prevent kids from slipping on the mats!
